Celebrate the Season with our Fall Party Ideas

It’s the perfect time to start playing catch up with friends and family now that everyone is back to their regularly scheduled programming after taking the summer off. And what better way to do so then by throwing a party to celebrate the glory of Pumpkin Spice season, formerly known as fall. Below are some of our favorite ways to celebrate the essence of autumn. Got some ideas of your own? Share them with us in the comments section!

At-Home Tailgate
There’s only one question on the lips of hot-blooded Americans right now, and it’s this: Are You Ready For Some Football? Prove just how pumped you are for your favorite gridiron game by throwing the ultimate at-home tailgate for you and your friends. Make it a weekly ritual and serve up some classic Game Day snacks like nachos, wings, or hoagies, or put a new spin on the gameday tradition by coming up with different themes for each week, like food inspired by the city your favorite team is playing, or sample dishes inspired by two different cultures each week (Mexican vs. Italian; Thai vs. Chinese) to see which one your guests votes the winner!

Oompah! Get in the traditional German Oktoberfest spirit with a shindig in late September or early October. Be sure to supply staples like sausages, bratwurst, and knackwurst, and side dishes such as German potato salad and red cabbage with apples, bacon, and sauerkraut. If you really want to step up your game, find some cool beer steins at nearby thrift shops, and ask guests to come sporting lederhosen or dirndls.

Fall Harvest Party
Celebrate all the wonderful crops currently in season with a fall-themed Harvest Party. Indulge in the delicious bounty available during this time of year, including apples, cranberries, butternut squash, figs, brussel sprouts, and so much more! Encourage guests to create their favorite tastes of the season using locally harvested ingredients and ask them to bring copies of their recipes to share.

DVR Party
Winter is coming, and so is the next round of Must-See TV. Instead of alienating yourself from everyone you know until your favorite series wraps up, invite them over to watch with you! Make the event extra special with themed snacks to go with your favorite shows.
